    European Commission logo

Untill the 09/09/2012 the EU invites all EU citizens and organisations concerned with developing EU citizenship to share their views on the development on EU citizenship. We as a UWE will enter the view of the board and maybe you'd like to enter your view as an inidvidual or as an NFA? As a board we need your views per NFA or as individual members so let us know what you definitely would like us to share!  Send it to us by email uwepresident@ifuw.org or post it on the blog so we all know! If you use your individual right and send in the questionaire, mention you are member of UWE somewhere on the questionaire!! Let's hear from all of you!

    For the board,

    Edith Lommerse, president of UWE

This public consultation by the European Commission is aimed at all EU citizens and organisations. The EU wants to know about any obstacles you might be facing in your daily life as a European citizen living, studying, working, shopping or simply travelling within the EU. And they would also like to hear your ideas about how to remove these obstacles and further develop EU citizenship. The European Commission will present a new EU Citizenship Report in 2013 with further measures responding to issues raised by EU citizens.

    Dear all,

I was notified that it would be best to have you subscribed as a follower. So that is why you received another email about this blog. It is also a good moment to tell you why we have started this blog. As I mentioned in my speech in Helsinki it would be beneficial to our netwerk if we could communicate more easily and quicker. This tool is easy and it doesn't cost anything! So if you have a question for the board or any of the other members feel free to post it!  Thank you very much for assisting me with this: Uta Krope! More about her offer to assist us in a next blog!

    Edith, president of UWE

The more than 150 ladies from all over Europe bought lots and gifts, and in doing so came up with 617 Euros for the Lottery and 770 euros for the Travelshop. This is a fund to help members to come to the UWE conferences that are otherwise not able to come. Thank you on their behalf!

Members of the new Uwe board spoke early Sunday morning 10 June 2012 about their plans for the future. We discussed mostly practical things like how to communicate and work together. We decided to meet soon to get to know each other better and use modern technology to work together. Also we reflected on the way the Annual general Meeting had been conducted. Some parts were great. The presentations of the NFA´s seemed to be the better part of the day but the discussion about the dues is not to be repeated. How to prevent discussions like it in the future?   We will work on that and other things like a plan to move forward half July when we meet in Brussels. Marie-José Jonczy was so friendly to invite us at her home!
